Search engines like Google act as a ‘middle man’ for you, taking care of all the difficult things such as finding the client, invoicing etc. All you have to do is simply ‘plug in’ a short piece of javascript supplied by Google and when the visitor to your website sees one of your web pages, he also sees a short set of simple text adverts that are relevant to the content of your page (for example, if your web page is about ‘cats’, the ads might be for ‘catfood.co.uk’ or ‘petparadise.com’ and so on).

Visitors to your website, of course, like to click on things, and some of them will click on these little adverts. And that’s when you make money. Each click is worth hard cash. From a few cents to multiple dollars, your visitors click your ads, and you get the credit. Once a month or so, Google will send you a check for however much money you have made. And that’s it. No customer support, no product returns, no shipping, nothing except small, targeted websites and cheap hosting (see over on the right!).
